Judith, I just looked to set my Directv record and the show is on Fox News channel which (for me) is different from Fox Business channel… perhaps to capture a broader audience?

Thank you for pointing out that Hal Lindzen made exactly the same comment that Judith Curry made which was exactly the same comment I made. All independently. So what do I do when I’m faced with finding myself in agreement with two of the most senior living atmospheric physicists in the world vs. being in disagreement with you, a unknown post graduate student.

You see where I’m going with this?

Tony nobody argues that it is accurate to a tenth.
Nobody.

In your article at secular students alliance you failed to use the actual dataset and instead used a fabricated dataset with a linearly increasing number of buoys ending the series 5 years early. That’s not what happened in the real world.

Are you sure it is EPA?

Here it is City of Seattle and King County regs.

Your “nopium” does not infer “hopium” when the cause is insufficient R&D to develop the sustainable cheap replacement fuel. Holywood/Fukushima/Green fright is stopping nuclear power.

If this means we get a two week opportunity to call a spade a spade without mommy being offended and disappearing comments then I hope your schedule goes so well that you get even busier in the future.

Tony you have zero idea how difficult the sst data is. You barely understand land data.
Step away from the key board.

Read harder I said fractions of a degree not tenths. :)

What do you believe their level of accuracy to be, and from what decade can we rely on them as a good representation of global sea surface temperature?

What do you estimate the error range to be on the estimates of SST?

And two followup questions:

1) Is that a prediction?

2) Where in the world is Mr. T?

I understand how SST data is derived quite well thank you. If I step away it leaves you free to not answer questions and misread comments like when you claimed I said tenths of a degree when I didn’t.

Would you like to answer my question as to when global SST data can be considered reliable?

What Springer said, secular student alex. Show us that it works the same both ways with the real data. Frankly, I am suspicious. If they could have done the same thing by adjusting the notoriously dubious ship data, why did they cause a doo-doo storm by adjusting the buoy data? Since this appears to be an obvious PR stunt from the beginning, you could score some points by clearing this up.

While you are at it, make an attempt of honestly the question I have asked you repeatedly, with no complete answer. Why did they make any adjustment at all, given that the other many producers of SST data products have known about the differences between the buoy and ship data for as long as Karl et al. and they have decided not to apply the dubious adjustment? Or you can find some excuse to take your ball and go home, again.

Fox News is available in the UK on the Sky network and maybe others, checking the EPG, the Stossel programme will show at 3am Monday morning. Fox News is live here, simply time zone shifted. PVR is set. :)

We want to be effective, tony. It’s a hefty fine and a good whupping. The real ornery ones also got to get out of town, as soon as they regain consciousness.
